Under the umbrella of the National Roads Authority (NRA) the Conference of European Directors of Roads (CEDR) issued the CEDR Call 2012 ‘Road owners adapting to Climate Change’ — a call for scientific projects regarding the Impact of Climate Change on European transport infrastructure within which CliPDaR (Design guideline for a transnational database of downscaled climate projection data for road Impact ) was commissioned.

CliPDaR was carried out in a cooperation of the German national weather Service (DWD) and the Austrian national weather Service (ZAMG); was presented at more than 10 national/international conferences; holded and took part in a number of stakeholder workshops; issued six reports on the topic and one Guideline; produced a peer-reviewed paper and succeeded in presenting its results at the Transport Research Arena 2014 in Paris (TRA14).
